Golf was the agenda of the day but not the core reason almost 200 participants attended St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital’s Sixth Annual Golf Outing, held recently at Branton Woods Golf Club (Hopewell Junction). The event, which raised more than $150,000 to advance health care initiatives, attracted physicians, community and business leaders and other friends of SLCH who support the hospital’s mission to provide quality, comprehensive medical care to the region.
The event also recognized the leadership and dedication of SLCH Board Chairman Richard O’Beirne, who launched the Golf Outing six years ago, and served as its chairman for the first few years.
In welcoming the golfers and sponsors, SLCH President and CEO Allan E. Atzrott said it was gratifying to see the support SLCH has earned, noting that the dollars raised would further the hospital’s ongoing commitment to be the region’s premier provider of health care. He spoke of recent accomplishments, including further enhancements to the hospital’s clinical affiliation with The Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC, the start of construction on a comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center, renovations to patient rooms, enhancement of cardiac technology, the establishment of a Center for Joint Replacement and the addition of the da Vinci® robotic surgical system.
Major sponsors of the event were Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 17; Hunter Roberts Construction Group; Feldman, Kleidman & Coffey, LLP; Clark Patterson Associates; Collazo, Carling and Mish, LLP; Epstein Becker and Green, PC; Highland Associates, Ltd.; NY State Laborers Employers Cooperation and Education Trust Fund; Provident Bank; and The Eagle Insurance Agency, LLC. |
