SLCH Appoints New Communications Manager

St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Dipnarine-Saroop as Communications Manager. In her new role, she is involved in the development and implementation of communications strategies, as well as the management of both internal and external marketing and communications initiatives.

Dipnarine-Saroop, a resident of Poughkeepsie, has more than a decade of experience in the fields of communications, public relations and journalism. She has worked with numerous non-profit, government and international organizations across North and South America, Asia and Europe on social and global issues for the improvement of the human condition. She has worked to build communications within various organizational environments, most recently at Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages and the Office of the Prime Minister in the Government of Trinidad & Tobago.

“Karen brings outstanding skills, a commitment to serving others and a solid and diverse communications background to our organization,” said Judi Stokes, SLCH Director of Marketing and Public Affairs. “She is a welcome addition as we continue to improve facilities, programs and services to enhance health care in our region.”

Dipnarine-Saroop is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the International Association of Business Communicators, and has earned Accreditation in Public Relations.  She holds a B.A. in Psychology, Political Science and English Literature from Osmania University in India, as well as an M.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom.
