Newburgh, NY – Frank Cook, a Newburgh native and Prudential Financial retiree, has volunteered at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) since 2003. His volunteer service was recently recognized by Prudential through a $1,000 grant given to the hospital in honor of his commitment.
“My family has been a member of this community for three generations,” said Cook. “When I retired from Prudential, I knew I wanted to do something to help this community. Volunteering at the hospital was my top choice. My three sons were born here and the hospital has cared for so many of my friends and neighbors.”
Cook’s volunteer responsibilities have grown over the years, resulting in over 2,500 volunteer hours. He has worked in many areas of the hospital – in the Pharmacy assisting pharmacists and technicians, at the hospital’s busy Information Desk greeting patients and visitors and in the Center for Joint Replacement, helping patients who’ve recently undergone hip or knee replacement surgery. |
