St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital operates one of the most active Emergency Departments in the region and has a reputation for delivering big-city care, close to home. SLCH’s newly-renovated Level Two Trauma Center Emergency Departments conveniently located at two campuses, Newburgh and Cornwall, see 60,000 patients a year. With new and expanded facilities at the Littman Center for Emergency Medicine in Cornwall and the Kaplan Family Center for Emergency Medicine in Newburgh, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital provides unparalleled emergency care that is second to none.

  Sharing Kaplan
St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital EDs offers bedside triage, so you are seen quickly. All Fast Track rooms are private and are equipped with computers that provide care givers with immediate access to your x-rays, lab work and all other vital documentation. The Emergency Departments on both campuses provide an identical level of care and are available to patients 24/7. In addition, the Cornwall campus has a dedicated SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examination) Room, strictly dedicated to the treatment of patients who are victims of sexual assault.

Sharing Littman   The Emergency Department provides multi-disciplinary coordinated care between the physicians, nurses, physician assistants and technologists ensuring you are always receiving the highest quality of care. The Emergency Department team will always take the time to provide you with an explanation of the care you are receiving at level.

For those requiring ambulatory service, SLCH offers advanced ambulatory diagnostics by providing EKG transfer technology to emergency responders. This allows EMT personnel to communicate vital information to the ER prior to your arrival.

The emergency medicine team is led by Scot Hill, MD, Medical Director and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Hill, who is board certified in Emergency Medicine and brings over 15 years of emergency room expertise to the region, having spent 15 years in the Emergency Department at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Meika Roberson is also board certified in Emergency Medicine and serves as the Associate Medical Director of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Site Director of the Littman Center for Emergency Medicine. Her experience includes serving as Vice-Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at North General Hospital in New York as well as Assistant Professor of Emergency Care at The Mt. Sinai Hospital.
