Newburgh, NY - St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) recently welcomed physicians, political leaders, employees and members of the community to celebrate a decade of transforming care in the community. The ceremony marked the completion of the new SLCH lobby and the culmination of its 10-year, $125 million master facility plan. Throughout the last decade, SLCH has invested greatly in its people, technology and breadth of services, literally rebuilding itself from the inside out.
The new Lobby was also publically dedicated to- and named after- the SLC Auxiliary for its countless years of service and dedication to the SLCH community.

“As I look back on the transformation of care at SLCH, I can’t help but think about the positive impact of the SLC Auxiliary,” said Allan E. Atzrott, SLCH President and CEO. “Past and present Auxiliary members deserve recognition of the highest regards.”
The patient experience begins with valet parking at the hospital entrance. Through the main doors, visitors enter into a sleek, completely refurbished lobby, complete with seating area and a relaxing water feature. Security is on hand at the main entrance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The new Gift Nook is available for seasonal items, floral arrangements, or even just a mid-day snack.
“With the $125 million 10-year master facility plan coming to a close, the Lobby demonstrates once again that this is a new and improved facility,” said Allan E. Atzrott, SLCH President and CEO. “Thanks to continued community support, we reached our goals and have begun plans for the future.”
