Scot Hill, MD, Medical Director & Chair of the Dept. of Emergency Medicine
Newburgh, NY – St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) has appointed Scot Hill, MD, as the Medical Director and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Hill previously served nearly 15 years in the Emergency Department at The Mt. Sinai Hospital.
“Dr. Hill brings extensive emergency medicine expertise from
Mt. Sinai to the mid-Hudson Valley that will result in even better overall outcomes for our Emergency Department,” says Allan E. Atzrott, SLCH President and CEO. “We are fortunate he has joined our community and look forward to great things as a result of his appointment.”
Dr. Hill earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont, Burlington; completed an internship at Roosevelt Hospital’s Department of Internal Medicine, New York; and his residency in Emergency Medicine at Cook County Hospital, Chicago.
In addition to his work with The Mount Sinai Hospital, where he recently served as Director of Quality and Associate Operations Director, Dr. Hill has worked as an attending physician at St. Francis Hospital,Evanston, Ill., and Elmhurst Hospital, Queens. His academicappointments include Assistant Clinical Professorship, Department of Emergency Medicine, at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Hill says “SLCH has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the region and a reputation for offering big city care close to home. I’m looking forward to working with this dynamic team of care providers.” He also cites quality of life as another reason he chose to relocate his family to the mid-Hudson Valley. “This is a great area to live and raise a family,” he said.
Dr. Hill is board certified in Emergency Medicine, and sits on numerous medical committees and associations.
In his new role, Hill will oversee emergency care delivery at SLCH’s Kaplan Family Center for Emergency Medicine in Newburgh and Littman Center for Emergency Medicine in Cornwall.
