Our Nursing Department strives to be the region’s premier provider of quality nursing care. Our nurses are committed to excellence in providing compassionate, individualized patient-centered care. We believe in honoring the uniqueness of each patient and his or her health care needs. Respect for patient rights and confidentiality are always a priority, and we are committed to collaborative practice, life-long learning, evidence-based care and elevating the standards of nursing.
Our nursing team works under the direction of Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Joan Cusack-McGuirk, RN, BSN, MA,
CNAA-BC. She and the nursing leadership team are responsible for ensuring that our high standards for nursing care are consistently met throughout the hospital. Patient feedback is welcomed and appreciated, as it provides opportunities to continually enhance the services we provide.
SLCH’s model for delivering care is patient and family focused. We believe in decentralized decision-making where appropriate, to empower nurses to enhance care at the bedside and promote an atmosphere of participation and collaboration.
