Congratulations on your new position! Today, you begin what I hope will be a rewarding career at SLCH. Since 2000, I’ve worked alongside a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, professionals and support staff at SLCH. Collectively, we’ve worked hard to “raise the bar” on the standard quality of care we provide the community. And now, you join that effort!
What we do here is more than a job. It’s a passion, a passion to serve - to share your skills, talent and compassion with our patients and their family members. SLCH has had a profound impact on the lives of patients for more than 140 years.
Remember, no hospital visit is ever without fear and anxiety, so whether you’re in a direct patient-care position or a supporting role, the effort you give will go a long way to providing a reassuring, positive patient experience.
No two days at SLCH are ever the same. Every day brings different challenges and exciting opportunities to improve and possibly even change the life of a patient. Communication at all levels is key to our success, especially your
suggestions to improve our service. Each quarter, I hold CEO Roundtable meetings for hospital employees and take into consideration all employee feedback. In addition, we have a CEO Hotline where you can leave a message with your name, department and suggestion; you will receive a response within 48 hours.
Strive for excellence every day - the greatness of our organization depends on you! And treat our patients and visitors like you want to be treated: caring; compassionate; and with a sincere interest in their well being.
Again, congratulations and welcome to the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital family! |
